
Wipro PARI Supports Robotics Education with Industrial Robot Donation to ISCE Pune!
Wipro PARI has reinforced its commitment to developing future manufacturing talent by donating an industrial robot to the Indo-Swiss Centre of Excellence (ISCE) in Pune. The initiative is designed to provide students with hands-on experience in robotics and industrial automation, equipping them with practical skills that align with the evolving needs of modern manufacturing.
The company, a part of Wipro Infrastructure Engineering, has donated and commissioned a FANUC R-2000iB/210F six-axis industrial robot at the institute. Officially inaugurated on 4 July, the robot will serve as a key training tool for nearly 200 students enrolled in various technical education programmes, enabling them to gain real-world exposure to industrial automation technologies.
The addition of the robot significantly enhances ISCE’s practical learning capabilities by allowing students to work with the same advanced equipment used in manufacturing facilities around the world. Through hands-on training, students will develop skills in industrial robot programming, automation processes, production workflows, and manufacturing operations, helping bridge the gap between classroom learning and industry requirements.
The initiative is particularly impactful as many students at ISCE come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, including families of daily wage workers and students from orphanages. By providing access to advanced manufacturing technologies, the programme aims to improve technical competencies, increase employability, and create better career opportunities in India’s rapidly growing manufacturing sector.
ISCE delivers three-year diploma programmes in collaboration with the Nettur Technical Training Foundation, offering specialised education in disciplines such as mechatronics engineering, smart factories, electronics engineering, and embedded systems. The installation of the industrial robot further strengthens the institute’s practical training infrastructure, ensuring students graduate with industry-relevant knowledge and hands-on experience.
The project also reflects the growing importance of collaboration between industry and educational institutions in addressing the increasing demand for skilled professionals in advanced manufacturing.
