Total Machine Support showcases the technologies helping manufacturers maximise CNC machine uptime
By Clinton Perry
Keeping CNC machines cutting around the clock requires far more than just world-class machine tools. Behind every productive shop floor is a network of specialist companies delivering the products, services and expertise that keep spindles turning, minimise downtime and maximise performance.

This week, the MTDCNC team visited Total Machine Support Ltd to meet with industry experts Leroy Garratt and Dave Lawrence for an in-depth look at the importance of proactive machine maintenance and the latest technologies helping manufacturers improve reliability, automation and productivity.
During the visit, Leroy and Dave demonstrated several innovative solutions that are helping manufacturers optimise their CNC operations, including lift assist systems that make loading heavy workpieces, fixtures and raw materials safer and more efficient, automated machine door systems designed to integrate seamlessly with robotic automation, and simple yet highly effective spindle monitoring devices that provide valuable insights into spindle health and performance before problems become costly failures.
The discussions highlighted a growing trend across manufacturing, where preventative maintenance and condition monitoring are becoming just as important as the machines themselves. By identifying issues before they develop into unplanned downtime, manufacturers can increase machine availability, improve productivity and reduce maintenance costs.

The visit also reinforced the role specialist support companies play in modern manufacturing, providing not only innovative hardware solutions but also the expertise needed to help customers get the very best from their CNC investments.
MTDCNC would like to thank Leroy Garratt and Dave Lawrence from Total Machine Support Ltd for sharing their knowledge and experience throughout the day. A special thank you also goes to the team at NEUTEQ GROUP for hosting the visit and providing such a warm welcome.
Stay tuned to MTDCNC for the full video, where we’ll take a closer look at these practical technologies and explore how they are helping manufacturers keep their machines running at peak performance.
