Using the Mplus branding for the new M-TAPS, they are a new generation of high-performance solid taps engineered for precision thread production across a wide range of standard and demanding applications. Designed for both cutting and cold forming operations, the M-TAPS range delivers exceptional reliability, productivity and high-quality threads for manufacturers seeking optimized machining performance.
The M-TAPS portfolio includes taps for Metric, Metric Fine, UNC, UNF, and Gas thread standards, alongside advanced cold forming taps for chipless thread generation in Metric, Metric fine and Gas type thread. The taps are made from premium HSS-PM substrates with advanced PVD coatings, this provides outstanding wear resistance, toughness and process stability over a wide range of materials, including steels, stainless steels, cast irons, aluminium alloys, titanium and HRSA.
The M-TAPS range also includes a structured tool selection system that simplifies product identification and application matching, helping users quickly select the ideal solution for their threading requirements.
Engineered with application-specific geometries, the series features optimized chamfer forms, straight and spiral flute designs and reinforced cores. Internal coolant and lubrication groove options are available to improve chip evacuation, lubrication and process reliability, helping reduce breakage and extend tool life. Dedicated solutions are available for through holes, bottoming applications and short-chip materials.
The cutting tap range covers sizes from M3 up to M20, together with Metric Fine, UNC, UNF and Gas thread standards. The cold forming range covers Metric, Metric Fine and Gas thread standards, providing a complete portfolio for a wide variety of threading applications.
