AMD has announced the appointment of Vinay Awasthi as Senior Vice President of Sales for the Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) region, reinforcing its commitment to expanding its presence across one of the world’s fastest-growing technology markets. Based in Singapore, Awasthi will lead the company’s regional sales operations, driving customer engagement, deepening ecosystem partnerships, and aligning go-to-market strategies across diverse markets in Asia Pacific and Japan.

Awasthi brings more than two decades of global sales leadership experience to AMD. Throughout his career, he has built a strong reputation for driving business growth, developing strategic customer relationships, and leading high-performing teams across international markets. Prior to joining AMD, he served as Senior Vice President and Global Head of Compute Sales at Qualcomm, where he played a key role in expanding the company’s computing business and strengthening its position in emerging technology segments.

Before Qualcomm, Awasthi spent 21 years at HP, holding a variety of senior leadership roles across different geographies and business units. During his tenure, he gained extensive experience in enterprise technology, commercial sales, channel management, and customer engagement. His long-standing track record of delivering results in highly competitive markets has made him a respected leader within the global technology industry.

A defining characteristic of Awasthi’s career has been his ability to cultivate strong partnerships with customers and business stakeholders.
