In a conversation with Lyndsey Vickers of MTDCNC, Gautschi Beat of EROWA AG explains how operators are shifting from machine tending to system management, with offline preparation and automation unlocking far higher utilisation and lower stress.
The result is a major jump in generator hours – from around 40–50 per week per machine to over 100 – completely changing how EDM capacity is delivered through automated production.
