Phillips Corporation Showcases Hands-On Manufacturing Training at North Carolina Facility
By Lauren Ladell
Last week, Arthur Field and Lauren LaDell visited Phillips Corporation at its dedicated maintenance and repair training centre in Mooresville, North Carolina, gaining an inside look at how the company is helping manufacturers develop critical technical skills through practical, hands-on education.

The Mooresville facility, alongside a second training centre in Tennessee, delivers multiple training courses every week focused on machine maintenance, repair, operation, and programming. Designed to support manufacturers using Haas Automation equipment, the programmes are aimed at improving machine reliability, operator confidence, and long-term productivity on the shop floor.
One of the standout aspects of the training centre is the experience brought by its instructors. Every trainer has worked directly within the manufacturing industry, allowing students to learn from professionals with real-world shop floor knowledge and practical application experience.
Training programmes available through the centre include:
- Maintenance and repair training
- Preventative maintenance courses
- Programming support
- Machine operation training

During the visit, Arthur and Lauren interviewed both students and instructors following an intensive week of training, hearing first-hand how valuable practical manufacturing education continues to be for companies looking to maximise machine uptime and strengthen workforce capability.
Conversations throughout the visit highlighted a growing industry challenge. As manufacturing technology continues to advance, the demand for skilled maintenance knowledge and technical expertise is increasing rapidly. Facilities such as Phillips Corporation’s training centres are playing a vital role in helping bridge that skills gap by equipping engineers and operators with the confidence and experience needed to support modern manufacturing environments.
