Following the investment in a new KMway Wire EDM machine supplied by Eurospark LTD. The addition of the Wire EDM system now allows the company to bring previously outsourced work back under its own control, significantly improving lead times and increasing flexibility for customers across demanding sectors such as Oil and Gas.
According to Andrew Lynch, the investment represents “the final piece in the puzzle” as the business continues to expand its machining capabilities and deliver faster turnaround times on complex precision-engineered components.

The new Wire EDM technology enables Duncan-Lynch Precision Engineering to machine intricate features and hard-to-process materials with greater efficiency and accuracy. One of the biggest advantages has come when working with challenging materials such as Inconel, where components traditionally requiring extensive milling operations can now be processed more effectively on the Wire EDM machine.
By moving more of these difficult features onto the Wire EDM platform, the company is also reducing carbide tooling consumption, helping lower machining costs while maintaining the high-quality standards customers expect.

The investment reflects Duncan-Lynch Precision Engineering’s ongoing commitment to continuous improvement, advanced manufacturing technology, and delivering a stronger service offering to its customer base.
With greater control over production, improved lead times, and enhanced capability on difficult materials, the company is now even better positioned to support customers with complex, high-precision engineering requirements.
