WFL Millturn Technologies GmbH & Co. KG has unveiled FLANX – THE TOOTH PROFILER, an advanced gear manufacturing solution designed to deliver exceptional precision, flexibility, and efficiency within a single MILLTURN platform.
Developed in collaboration with industry partners, FLANX has been engineered to simplify complex gear production by enabling manufacturers to machine a wide range of gear profiles without dedicated gear-cutting machines. By consolidating multiple operations into one platform, manufacturers can significantly reduce production complexity, improve workflow efficiency, and maximise machine utilisation.
The new system combines machine design, intelligent software, and integrated in-process measurement within a fully closed-loop manufacturing workflow. This seamless integration allows users to move efficiently from programming and simulation through to machining and validation, helping ensure consistent part quality, reduced scrap, and improved process reliability.
One of the key advantages of FLANX is its ability to complete machining operations in a single setup, reducing lead times while improving overall accuracy. The solution also supports the use of standard tooling, offering manufacturers a more cost-effective approach to gear production without compromising on performance.
FLANX supports multiple gear manufacturing technologies, including gear hobbing, gear shaping, skiving, and involute milling, giving manufacturers the flexibility to produce a broad range of gear types and sizes across various industries and applications.
Delivering achievable gear quality levels up to DIN 5–6 and supporting a module range from mn 1 to mn 100, FLANX provides machining performance comparable to dedicated gear-cutting systems while maintaining the versatility of a MILLTURN platform.
Additional software solutions, including CrashGuard Studio and GearCAM, further enhance the system by improving programming safety, process optimisation, and machining simulation, helping manufacturers reduce risk and increase operational confidence before production begins.
