Komaki expands EV ecosystem with advanced lithium battery manufacturing facility in Gurgaon!
Komaki Electric Vehicles has strengthened its position in India’s electric mobility sector with the launch of its second lithium battery manufacturing facility in Gurgaon. Located in Udyog Vihar, the new plant marks a significant milestone in the company’s expansion strategy and is positioned as one of the largest integrated EV battery manufacturing units in North India.
Spread across 40,000 square feet and built with an investment of approximately ₹30 crore, the facility has a production capacity of 10,000 lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries per month, translating to an annual output of around 1,20,000 units. This expansion is expected to support Komaki’s growing electric vehicle portfolio by ensuring a stable and reliable supply of high-performance battery systems.
A key highlight of the facility is its focus on advanced battery chemistries, specifically LFP and lithium manganese iron phosphate (LMFP) technologies. These chemistries are increasingly preferred in electric mobility due to their superior safety, thermal stability and longer lifecycle performance. Their fire-resistant properties and ability to perform reliably under diverse climatic conditions make them particularly suitable for Indian operating environments.
Komaki’s battery systems are engineered to deliver up to 2,500 charge cycles, providing long-term durability and efficiency. To further enhance customer confidence, the company offers warranty coverage of up to three years for LFP batteries and five years for LMFP batteries. These features contribute to a lower total cost of ownership and improved reliability for EV users.
Sustainability has been a central focus in the development of the new plant. The facility incorporates efficient manufacturing processes aimed at minimizing material wastage and optimizing resource utilization.
