Dormer Pramet expands drilling and toolholding portfolio to enhance machining performance!
Dormer Pramet has expanded its machining portfolio with the introduction of a new range of drilling tools and toolholder solutions designed to improve productivity, precision and application flexibility across modern manufacturing environments. The latest additions are aimed at addressing a wide spectrum of machining requirements, from general-purpose drilling to highly specialized deep-hole and small-diameter applications.
A key highlight of the launch is the Force X Generation 2 series of solid carbide drills. These tools are engineered for machining ISO P, M and K materials, making them suitable for working with steels, stainless steels and cast irons. The updated drill design focuses on improving tool life, stability and cutting performance, enabling manufacturers to achieve consistent results even in demanding production conditions. With optimized geometries and coating technologies, these drills are designed to support higher cutting speeds while maintaining accuracy and reliability.
In addition to general-purpose drilling, Dormer Pramet has introduced Force Micro Drills specifically developed for small-diameter applications ranging from 0.7 mm to 2.95 mm. These tools are particularly valuable for industries that require high-precision machining of small components, such as medical devices, electronics and precision engineering. The micro drills are designed to deliver excellent accuracy and surface finish while minimizing tool deflection and breakage.
For more demanding operations, the company has also launched Force Deep Hole Drills capable of achieving drilling depths of up to 20 times the tool diameter. These tools are engineered to provide stable performance in deep-hole applications, ensuring effective chip evacuation and maintaining hole quality even at extended depths. Such capabilities are critical in industries where deep and accurate holes are required, including aerospace, automotive and heavy engineering.
Complementing the drilling tools, Dormer Pramet has introduced new Polygon Shank Coupling toolholders designed for external radial turning operations. These holders are compatible with existing BS blades and offer flexibility by allowing assembly for both right-hand and left-hand configurations. This adaptability simplifies tool setup and enhances usability across different machining setups.
The company has also expanded its range of ISO S holders for internal turning applications. These holders feature integrated coolant supply systems that improve heat management and chip evacuation during machining. Their extended lengths make them suitable for deep-hole machining and for reaching complex internal geometries that are otherwise difficult to access. This enhances machining capability while maintaining precision and surface quality.
Overall, this portfolio expansion demonstrates Dormer Pramet’s focus on providing comprehensive tooling solutions that address the evolving needs of manufacturers. By combining advanced drilling technologies with versatile toolholding systems, the company enables improved efficiency, reduced downtime and enhanced machining performance. These developments support manufacturers in achieving higher productivity and maintaining consistent quality in increasingly complex production environments.
