Ola Electric has announced the expanded rollout of deliveries of its S1 Pro+ (5.2 kWh) electric scooter powered by the company’s indigenously developed 4680 Bharat Cell battery technology across key southern Indian markets. The latest phase of deliveries now covers Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Telangana, and Karnataka, with vehicles reaching customers in cities such as Coimbatore, Kochi, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru. This expansion represents a significant milestone in Ola Electric’s strategy to scale homegrown battery innovation and strengthen its vertically integrated electric vehicle ecosystem.

The S1 Pro+ (5.2 kWh) is the first model in Ola Electric’s two-wheeler portfolio to be powered by the in-house manufactured 4680 Bharat Cell battery pack. By producing both battery cells and battery packs internally, Ola Electric has become India’s first electric vehicle manufacturer to fully control the cell-to-pack value chain. This capability positions the company as a pioneer in domestic EV battery manufacturing and aligns closely with India’s broader goals of technological self-reliance and localised clean mobility solutions.

According to the company, early customer response to the S1 Pro+ has been encouraging, reinforcing confidence in its focus on building globally competitive EV technology within India. As deliveries gather pace across southern states, Ola Electric is preparing for a wider national rollout of vehicles based on the 4680 Bharat Cell platform, which is expected to underpin future models across its portfolio.

From a performance standpoint, the S1 Pro+ (5.2 kWh) is positioned as a high-performance electric scooter in the premium segment. It is powered by a 13 kW electric motor that enables rapid acceleration, achieving 0–40 kmph in just 2.1 seconds. The scooter offers a certified range of up to 320 km under IDC testing in DIY mode, addressing one of the key considerations for EV adoption—range confidence. Riders can choose between four riding modes—Hyper, Sports, Normal, and Eco—allowing them to balance performance and efficiency based on riding conditions and preferences.

Safety and comfort have also been key focus areas in the updated S1 Pro+. The scooter is equipped with dual-channel ABS, front and rear disc brakes, and a chassis tuned for improved stability. Ergonomic and design enhancements include a two-tone comfort seat, body-coloured mirrors, a redesigned aluminium grab handle, new rim decals, and a refreshed colour palette. These updates are aimed at improving everyday usability while maintaining the sporty character associated with the S1 Pro+.

Ola Electric’s broader two-wheeler portfolio spans premium Gen 3 S1 scooters as well as the Roadster X electric motorcycle range, offered across multiple battery configurations and price points. This diversified lineup allows the company to cater to both mass-market and premium customers while progressively introducing advanced technologies such as the 4680 Bharat Cell across models.

The expanded rollout of the S1 Pro+ powered by indigenous battery technology highlights Ola Electric’s ambition to play a leading role in India’s EV transition. By combining in-house manufacturing, performance-focused product design, and rapid market expansion, the company is positioning itself to scale electric mobility adoption while reducing dependence on imported battery technologies. As the national rollout progresses, the S1 Pro+ is expected to serve as a flagship example of India-designed and India-manufactured EV innovation.
