Craftsman Automation Limited Expands Manufacturing Footprint in Tamil Nadu!
Craftsman Automation Limited has announced a significant expansion of its manufacturing presence in Tamil Nadu through an acquisition by its wholly owned subsidiary, DR Axion India Private Limited. The move secures land for a new state-of-the-art production facility in the Chennai Metropolitan Area, reinforcing the Group’s footprint in one of India’s most critical automotive and industrial corridors.
On 19 December 2025, DR Axion India Private Limited entered into a share purchase agreement to acquire 100% of the paid-up equity shares of Suprash Developers Private Limited and, indirectly, its wholly owned subsidiary Srikara Technologies Private Limited. The transaction provides access to 52.83 acres of industrial land located at Araneri Village, Sriperumbudur Taluk, Kancheepuram district—a well-established manufacturing hub with strong connectivity to major automobile OEMs.
The acquired land will be utilised to set up a new manufacturing plant or unit in Tamil Nadu, supporting DR Axion’s long-term growth strategy and capacity expansion in the automotive components segment. The total consideration for the acquisition stands at ₹1,458.47 million, payable in cash, including the purchase of 22,850 equity shares of Suprash Developers at a significant premium.
Following completion of the transaction, Suprash Developers Private Limited will become a wholly owned subsidiary of DR Axion India Private Limited, while Srikara Technologies Private Limited will become a step-down subsidiary of DR Axion and, consequently, of Craftsman Automation Limited.
DR Axion India Private Limited specialises in lightweight aluminium components for passenger vehicles, manufacturing critical parts such as cylinder heads and cylinder blocks using gravity and low-pressure die-casting processes. These components are supplied to leading passenger vehicle OEMs. Incorporated in 2006 (originally as DR Enterprise Automotive Private Limited), the company became a Craftsman Automation subsidiary through phased equity acquisitions, culminating in full ownership.
Suprash Developers Private Limited and Srikara Technologies Private Limited are engaged in acquiring, developing, and leasing industrial, logistics, and warehousing assets. Both companies reported nil turnover over the last three financial years, including FY 2024–25, and were incorporated in October 2022 and October 2021, respectively.
The acquisition underscores Craftsman Automation’s continued investment in capacity creation and strategic infrastructure, positioning the Group to meet future demand from India’s expanding automotive and industrial manufacturing ecosystem.
