Mahindra Opens Rural Skill Development Centre with PM Modi!

Mahindra Tractors, India’s leading tractor brand, has inaugurated a new Skill Development Centre in Gadchiroli, Maharashtra, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi presiding virtually from Mumbai. This initiative marks a significant step in Mahindra’s mission to empower rural youth by equipping them with practical, industry-relevant skills that can open doors to employment across the country’s rapidly evolving farm machinery sector.

The Skill Development Centre has been established in partnership with the Department of Vocational Education & Training (DVET) and the Maharashtra State Skill Development Society (MSSDS) at Government ITI, Gadchiroli. The centre aligns with the vision of both the Prime Minister and Maharashtra’s Chief Minister to strengthen India’s workforce through skill development and hands-on learning, particularly in regions that need greater access to education and employment opportunities.

The facility offers world-class training programs covering manufacturing, servicing, and sales, supported by a structured curriculum and modern technical equipment. Through this program, rural youth will gain valuable real-world experience that bridges the gap between academic learning and industrial employability. This initiative not only enhances individual skill levels but also strengthens the broader agricultural and industrial ecosystem by preparing a future-ready workforce.

Veejay Nakra, President of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd’s Farm Equipment Business, expressed his gratitude, saying, “We at Mahindra are deeply honoured that our Hon. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated the Mahindra Tractor Skill Development Centre in Gadchiroli. Maharashtra is not just a leading industrial hub, but a state closely connected to the growth of the farm sector. It is a matter of pride for us to collaborate with the Government of Maharashtra in creating a future where rural communities are uplifted by cultivating skills and harvesting hope.”

This initiative reflects Mahindra’s continued commitment to transforming rural India through education, empowerment, and skill enhancement. By nurturing technical expertise and supporting employability, Mahindra is building pathways for young people to participate meaningfully in India’s manufacturing and agricultural growth.

The Gadchiroli Skill Development Centre stands as a model for how industry-government collaboration can drive inclusive development—empowering rural youth, boosting local economies, and strengthening India’s position as a global manufacturing and agricultural leader.
