MTDCNCLast viewed Empire Manufacturing are well known in the industry for their work on sliding head lathes, boasting a suite of Stars (plus a Fixed Head Lathe and a couple of Mills). Here they are show casing their skills. They have just made these medical parts from 410 stainless steel. The long component is 98mm long. The small ends are 2.8 dia milled down to 0.9mm thick and the slightly bigger one is 3.2mm milled to 1.0mm thick. There is also a ‘vee’ groove that follows the very large radius flat surface. Not exactly your run of the mill every day job.
