MTDCNCLast viewed MJ Allen Group has invested heavily in its machine shop capability. New arrivals have included a Doosan DNM500 II VMC and two Doosan (HP5100 II and HM1250) twin-pallet HMCs, as well as a Johnford DMC 3100SH double-column, bridge-type VMC. The latter allows MJ Allen to CNC machine components measuring up to 3m by 2m by 1.5 m in size. In a strategic development, there is a change of name for the group’s casting and machining companies, to MJ Allen Castings and Machining Ltd. This is a consolidation of MJ Allen (Iron Founders) Ltd, MJ Allen (Non-Ferrous Founders) Ltd and MJ Allen – ENC Ltd into one operating company with effect from 1 December 2015. The new company better reflects how the business has changed its operations in recent years, becoming a single-site casting, fabricating and machining concern. The new structure will also improve scheduling and customer communication, especially since the company has made a significant investment in a new, across-the-board Epicor 10 ERP system. Looking forward, MJ Allen will be exhibiting at Southern Manufacturing, Farnborough, 9-11 February next year (stand F134), displaying its casting, fabrication and machining capabilities.
