Toyota Announces BEV Production and Battery Plant in the United States

Toyota said that it would begin production of an all-new three-row battery electric SUV at Toyota Kentucky in 2025.

Toyota North Carolina batteries will power the company’s first BEV built in the United States. A $2.1 billion investment will be made in the new battery factory, which is now under development, to help the corporation achieve carbon neutrality.

Toyota is investing $2.1 billion in its battery production factory in North Carolina to build new infrastructure to support future growth. This takes Toyota North Carolina’s total investment to $5.9 billion.

“Toyota’s significant investment in our state, now nearly $6 billion, is terrific news and more evidence that North Carolina is a leader in the clean energy economy,” North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper said. “Toyota believes in our world-class workforce to power its future success, and I sincerely appreciate this enormous commitment here.”
