Skoda Auto Volkswagen India has reached a significant milestone with the production of its 500,000th engine at the Chakan facility in Maharashtra. This plant, with an annual production capacity of around 189,000 vehicles, manufactures models for both Skoda and Volkswagen, while also playing a pivotal role in the Volkswagen Group’s export operations.
The company has invested heavily in adapting TSI technology to meet the specific needs of the Indian market. With operations in India since 2001, the Volkswagen Group, which encompasses brands such as Skoda, Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, and Lamborghini, continues to see India as a key growth market.
