SEDEMAC Integrates Siemens Xcelerator for Enhanced Motor Control Unit Development in Automotive Sector!

Siemens Digital Industries Software has announced that SEDEMAC has adopted the Siemens Xcelerator suite to enhance innovation and accelerate product development across its Research & Development, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams. This integration will allow SEDEMAC to create advanced motor control units (MCUs) and engine control units (ECUs), which are crucial components for electric vehicles (EVs), hybrids, eBikes, and power tools. The motor control units, in particular, leverage SEDEMAC’s pioneering sensor-less control (SLC) technology, which is already implemented in millions of vehicles and equipment worldwide.

SEDEMAC, founded at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, has state-of-the-art development and manufacturing facilities in Pune, India. To streamline its processes further, the company has integrated Siemens’ Polarion™ X software for Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) and Teamcenter® X for Product Lifecycle Management (PLM). These tools ensure rapid product development while maintaining high quality by enhancing traceability, standardizing design actions, and improving collaboration across various teams.

Harsh Vinjamoor, SEDEMAC’s Chief Engineer of Systems Engineering, emphasized that Polarion’s adaptable workflows align seamlessly with the company’s processes, allowing the quality team to oversee multiple projects efficiently and manage risks effectively. This flexibility is essential for continuous improvement.

Mathew Thomas, Managing Director and Vice President for India at Siemens Digital Industries Software, highlighted that a robust digital platform strategy is key for manufacturers aiming to develop solutions for the EV sector. Siemens’ Xcelerator platform, with its digital twin capabilities, provides SEDEMAC the flexibility and interoperability needed to focus on product development, research, and engineering efficiently.

Siemens Digital Industries Software supports organizations globally in their digital transformation journey, using the Xcelerator platform to streamline design, engineering, and manufacturing processes, ensuring that innovative ideas are transformed into sustainable products for the future across various industries.
