Rockwell Automation Partners with Taurob to Offer End-to-End Robotic Automation Solution!

Rockwell Automation, Inc. has announced a strategic partnership with Taurob (Dietsmann Group) to deliver a comprehensive robotic automation solution aimed at transforming industrial operations. Taurob, known for designing and manufacturing ground robots for inspection, maintenance, and data collection, will collaborate with Rockwell’s digital services division, Kalypso, to develop a solution that supports the shift towards autonomous operations in industrial facilities.

The partnership will combine Rockwell’s expertise in robotic automation and digital twin technology with Taurob’s leadership in industrial-grade ground robots. Together, the two companies will provide a seamless, end-to-end solution that will help clients automate fleets of robots, ultimately improving efficiency, safety, and sustainability goals.

“Many industrial companies are making strides toward autonomous operations by focusing on facility design, connectivity, and digital solutions,” said Matt Graves, Kalypso digital principal for process industries. “However, manual inspections are still common. This partnership allows us to push the boundaries of industrial automation by offering solutions that leverage digital twin and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) technologies to automate inspection processes.”

Taurob’s robots are capable of performing tasks under extreme environmental conditions, including detecting gas leaks, collecting video and sensor data, and manipulating valves, all while adhering to strict industry safety standards. The robots are ATEX certified, enabling them to operate safely in hazardous environments such as oil and gas facilities. They are also designed to withstand high temperatures and provide up to four hours of operational runtime.

The collaboration will deliver a full-service solution encompassing physical robots, sensors, supervision software, AI/ML-driven mission data analysis, and system integration. This offering will allow industrial organizations to move closer to autonomous operations, enhancing personnel safety, reducing operational expenses (OPEX), and improving production throughput.

Taurob co-founder and managing director Matthias Biegl commented, “Our partnership with Rockwell will be a game-changer, enabling us to scale our ATEX-certified robots globally. Together, we’ll deliver integrated solutions that optimize industrial site operations while streamlining sales and marketing efforts.”

This partnership is poised to reshape the landscape of industrial automation, particularly in sectors like oil and gas, mining, and chemicals, where hazardous environments make autonomous operations highly valuable.
