Mitsubishi Electric to Build New FA Line in China for Enhanced Competitiveness!

Mitsubishi Electric Corporation has announced plans to establish a new subsidiary, Mitsubishi Electric Intelligent Manufacturing Technology (China) Group Co., Ltd., in Suzhou, China, set to begin operations on April 1, 2025. The new company will serve as a key hub for Mitsubishi Electric’s Factory Automation (FA) systems business, focusing on product planning, development, manufacturing, and sales. This move is designed to increase competitiveness and improve the company’s ability to swiftly respond to the rapidly evolving and diversifying customer demands in the Chinese market.

Mitsubishi Electric has been working to expand its presence in China’s FA systems market by operating local manufacturing, sales, and service centers. To date, these operations have been guided by products developed and planned in Japan. However, with the rise of smart factory trends and increasing demands for productivity improvements, particularly in the fast-growing Chinese market, Mitsubishi Electric has recognized the need to accelerate its local capabilities.

The new headquarters in Suzhou will oversee the company’s FA systems business in China, enabling Mitsubishi Electric to better align with local market dynamics. This move aims to establish a more agile and responsive operational model through autonomous management that will facilitate quicker product development and supply, directly meeting the diverse needs of local industrial customers. The new subsidiary will also build a robust local supply chain and invest in securing and developing talent to better serve the rapidly evolving Chinese manufacturing landscape.

As the demand for smart factory solutions continues to rise, Mitsubishi Electric is committed to reinforcing the global competitiveness and sustainable growth of its FA systems business. The company is focused on helping its customers address complex manufacturing challenges while remaining at the forefront of the evolving industrial automation sector.
