INCIT to help accelerate manufacturing transformation in PH

The organisation will help facilitate PH’s adoption of the SIRI framework.

The International Centre for Industrial Transformation (INCIT) inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Philippines’ Department of Trade Industry (DTI) to accelerate the transformation of the latter’s manufacturing industry.

The MoU was signed at the International Transformation Asia-Pacific 2022 (ITAP 2022).

As a partner to the Philippines, INCIT will assist the country in its adoption of the Smart Industry Readiness Index (SIRI) framework. Meanwhile, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) will assist in the roll-out of the framework financially.

The Philippines is the first ASEAN country that partnered with INCIT to adopt the SIRI framework as a national index.

The SIRI framework helps solve production problems across silos, processes, technologies, or the organisation whilst increasing productivity.

“The utilisation of SIRI will be critical in supporting firms and industries shifting to new technologies. [It provides] deeper awareness and understanding of digital transformation and assistance to firms in assessing their technology readiness and formulation of their firm-level Industry 4.0 roadmaps,” Rafaelita M. Aldaba, the undersecretary for the Competitiveness and Innovation Group of DTI, said.
