Hurco Co. Inc. has introduced the TM8MYi slant-bed lathe, which fills the gap between their general-purpose TM series and high-performance TMX series of turning centers. This lathe is designed for enhanced machining operations and features live tooling capabilities, a Y-axis, and a BMT55 turret, ensuring maximum rigidity and precision.
The TM8MYi is equipped with a bi-directional, servo-driven live tool, allowing for dynamic milling, drilling, and tapping at speeds up to 5,000 rpm. Additionally, the lathe includes a Renishaw swing-down toolsetter for quick setups and incorporates linear roller ways to reduce vibration and increase rigidity. This machine can handle heavy-duty applications with its 15.5 hp spindle, delivering 72.4 ft-lbs of continuous torque.
With a variety of advanced features such as the UltiPocket and Advanced Verification Graphics with 3D solid rendering, the TM8MYi ensures faster programming, improved accuracy, and reduced scrap. The lathe also integrates Hurco control for both conversational programming and NC, making it versatile for different machining tasks. 3D Import and Data Block Search features allow users to program directly from STP files and easily navigate code, reducing programming time and improving operational efficiency.
This machine’s Y-axis capability makes it ideal for pocket machining with straight walls and flat bottoms, along with off-center operations. The TM8MYi is well-suited for a variety of industries, offering reliable performance and ease of use.
