Emuge-Franken USA, a leading manufacturer of high-performance tools, has unveiled its new MultiTAP NPT/NPTF Pipe Taps, designed to provide a universal threading geometry for both job shops and production tapping. These advanced taps feature a shortened projection length, significantly reducing cycle time and enhancing tool life, while still meeting all industry-standard requirements for gaging.
The newly introduced taps are tailored to meet the demanding needs of industries such as oil, gas, and petrochemical manufacturing. According to Dylan Bowles, Product Director at Emuge-Franken USA, the MultiTAP solution is versatile and reliable, specifically designed to handle even the toughest pipe tapping applications in energy sectors. These taps are also ideal for use in food and dairy equipment, high-pressure pipe delivery systems, valves, and fire suppression systems.
The MultiTAP line features an interrupted skip tooth thread profile, reducing cutting forces and minimizing chip clogging. The taps are made from a premium HSSE base tool substrate and coated with TICN-PVD to further extend tool life. Designed with a C-style semi-bottoming chamfer length of 2-3 teeth, these taps also feature an enhanced flute helix angle, making them suitable for both NPT (Right Hand 35° helix) and NPTF (Right Hand 15° helix) thread profiles.
Stocked in the U.S., these pipe taps offer a durable, efficient, and high-performance solution for manufacturers, improving both the productivity and longevity of tapping operations across various industries.
