EMAG has begun construction on a new plant in Mexico

The groundbreaking ceremony for the EMAG Group’s new factory in Querétaro’s San Isidro Business Park took place. The new EMAG plant in San Isidro will cover a total of 2,880 square metres. The manufacturing area is 1,800 square metres, with 30 machine assembly stations.

In addition to the production hall, the new structure features 1,200 square metres of office space on three levels. The third-floor houses a forum for customers, suppliers, and staff, as well as meeting spaces and a canteen. The team offices for administration, quotation preparation, sales, and engineering are planned for the second floor. The service and production areas, as well as changing rooms and an air-conditioned measuring room, will be located on the first floor.

Over the previous decade, the Mexican market has evolved into a desirable production location for the USMCA (United States Mexico Canada Agreement), formerly known as NAFTA. This is attributable to a number of factors, including the strategic location, advantageous investment framework conditions, a high level of training, a solid infrastructure, and a long history in manufacturing.

The recent worldwide crises have resulted in a reassessment of the value chain and production, leading to so-called nearshoring. Mexico has benefited from these crises and production misalignments. Automobile, aerospace, electronics, and consumer goods industries are investing billions of dollars in existing and new manufacturing capacity. But Mexico is more than just a large workshop. Because of its high level of education, the country is becoming home to an increasing number of global firms’ research and development centres.
