Velo3D Unveils Rapid Production Solutions for Additive Manufacturing!
Velo3D, a leading innovator in metal additive manufacturing (AM), has introduced its new Rapid Production Solutions…
Donaldson BOFA has introduced the ‘Shield’, a self-assembly 3D print enclosure designed to enhance safety and improve environmental conditions in additive manufacturing settings. The Shield is specifically designed to reduce potential exposure to airborne nanoparticles and volatile organic compounds (VOCs), which are commonly released during processes such as material extrusion, resin 3D printing, and post-processing.
The enclosure is built to house open-framed 3D printers typically used in environments such as dental laboratories, schools, colleges, universities, design shops, and small-scale print farms. One of the key features of the Shield is its ability to maintain a stable temperature environment, which is crucial for maintaining the quality of printed products. In extrusion-based processes, temperature fluctuations—often caused by drafts from open windows or doors—can degrade product quality, and the Shield helps mitigate this issue.
The enclosure is oversized for easy print removal or consumable replacement and can be bundled with various Donaldson BOFA fume extraction systems, further enhancing the safety of 3D print operations. The Shield also comes in a flat-pack design and can be assembled in eight simple steps, making it an efficient and convenient addition to any 3D printing workspace.
Other features of the Shield include a metal casing with acrylic panels for enhanced visibility of the printing process, dual access points for easy access, and full configurability with multiple feed-through options. The enclosure also allows for adjustable door orientations, providing flexibility in its use.
The Shield is a valuable addition for any 3D printing environment, offering protection against harmful emissions while ensuring optimal conditions for high-quality manufacturing.
