ABB Robotics Revolutionizes Programming with Extended Wizard Easy Software: Now Empowering Industrial Six-Axis Robots!

ABB Robotics Expands Free Wizard Easy Programming Software to Enhance Industrial Robot Capabilities

ABB Robotics has broadened the reach of its Wizard Easy Programming software, now encompassing its six-axis industrial robots equipped with the OmniCore controller, in addition to collaborative robots.

The Wizard Easy Programming software employs a user-friendly, graphical, no-code, drag-and-drop programming approach, streamlining the development of robot applications. This software empowers both novice and experienced users to create applications within minutes, a task that typically demands one week of training and another for development. Initially launched in 2020, Wizard Easy Programming gained widespread adoption across applications utilizing ABB’s cobot portfolio, including the YuMi, Swifti, and GoFa cobot families.

This software facilitates the development of robot applications like arc welding or machine tending, even for operators with no prior training. It enhances operational flexibility by allowing users to modify existing programs and pre-programmed blocks that control various behaviors, ranging from robot movements to signal instructions and force control, through an intuitive graphical user interface.

Wizard Easy Programming caters to both novice and experienced users with its Skill Creator tool, assisting system integrators and other users in efficiently creating customized, application-specific Wizard blocks. This capability is particularly beneficial for tasks such as machine tending, welding, and intricate applications like medical inspections. Ecosystem partners developing accessories, such as grippers, feeders, and cameras, will have access to a digital tool to share product-specific functionalities, regardless of the robot type they are deployed on.

This software comes preinstalled on all cobots and new six-axis industrial robots powered by OmniCore, ABB’s robot controller family, known for delivering an average 20% energy savings and future-proofing deployments with built-in digital connectivity and over 1000 scalable functions.
