Craig Pyser Appointed Chair of Additive Manufacturing UK to Drive Sector Growth

Additive Manufacturing UK (AMUK) has appointed Craig Pyser, CEO and co-founder of AMufacture, as its new chair, marking a significant new chapter for the UK’s leading trade association for additive manufacturing (AM) and 3D printing technologies.

Pyser’s appointment follows the departure of Stewart Lane, who stepped down in April to focus on his role as Vice President of the Manufacturing Technologies Association (MTA) — AMUK’s parent body. Lane, who served as AMUK’s chair since 2022, played a pivotal role in guiding the association through its integration into the MTA’s wider network of trade bodies and events.

Reflecting on his tenure, Lane commented:

“Serving as AMUK’s chair during such an important period has been an honour. Now that AMUK’s merger with the MTA is complete, it’s the right time to pass the torch. Craig brings a wealth of industry knowledge, leadership experience, and a deep understanding of AMUK. He’s perfectly placed to drive the association forward.”

Craig Pyser brings a unique blend of entrepreneurship, financial acumen, and AM expertise to the role. After a successful career in investment banking, he co-founded AMufacture in 2018, building it into a leading contract manufacturer specialising in industrial 3D printing. Under his leadership, AMufacture has become an early adopter of innovative AM technologies, including being the first in the UK to deploy HP’s 5620 3D printers.

On his appointment, Pyser said:

“I’m honoured to take on the role of chair at AMUK. This is an exciting time for additive manufacturing in the UK, and I look forward to working closely with members, partners, and the MTA to help shape the future of our industry. Stewart has done a fantastic job, and I’m committed to building on that foundation.”

AMUK, established in 2014, champions the UK’s position as a global leader in additive manufacturing. The organisation works to support innovation, build industry partnerships, and influence policy in a way that accelerates adoption of 3D printing technologies across all sectors of the economy.

Josh Dugdale, Head of AMUK, welcomed Pyser’s appointment:

“Craig has long been at the forefront of AM innovation in the UK. His deep understanding of the sector and forward-thinking leadership will be invaluable as we continue to grow AMUK’s impact and support our members.”

Under Pyser’s leadership, AMUK aims to reinforce its mission of delivering tangible value to members, encouraging collaboration, and ensuring the UK remains at the cutting edge of global AM development.
