Linear Automation Joins Nidec Press & Automation Group!

Nidec Minster Corp. has announced the acquisition of Linear Automation Inc., based in Barrie, Ontario, Canada, a leading provider of specialized automation machinery with a strong focus on optimizing metal stamping operations. With this acquisition, Linear Automation will become part of Nidec Press & Automation (NP&A), a global consortium of metal forming equipment manufacturers headquartered in Minster, Ohio.

David Winch, CEO of NP&A, emphasized the strategic fit of Linear Automation within the NP&A portfolio, stating, “Linear is a natural fit. It’s another strategic addition that will benefit our customers by offering turnkey manufacturing systems and technical service from a single source.”

The acquisition adds Linear Automation to NP&A’s extensive lineup of brands, including Minster Presses, Arisa Presses in Spain, Kyori Presses in Japan, Vamco Feeds in Pittsburgh, PA, CHS Corp. in Macomb, MI, Automatic Feed Co. in Napoleon, OH, and SYS Corp. in Germany. Ronald Arling, President of NP&A, highlighted how these brands complement each other, saying, “Together, we offer our customers unprecedented industry knowledge and a comprehensive range of solutions aimed at enhancing their success, supported by a global customer service network.”

Linear Automation is known for supplying press-transfer automation, blank-feed systems, end-of-line automation, robotic feeding and part-stacking systems, and press-to-press automation solutions. The acquisition includes Linear Automation’s headquarters and production facility in Barrie, as well as service centers in Windsor, Ontario, Louisville, KY, and Monterrey, Mexico. The company, along with its 100 employees, will continue to operate under its current leadership team at their existing locations.
